(More customer reviews)This is like a dense, dense cotton, or a very thin felt. It doesn't crinkle, and seems very sturdy. Easy to put on with 2 people-- doable with one. Slips on then zips on one end. I'd recommend this for anyone living in an apartment with a mattress they don't want to throw away-- even if you have heard nothing about bedbugs in your area. We were told to put it on after plagued with a small bug problem to "lock whoever is left, in-- and keep others out" (The apartment was also sprayed-- this product doesn't fix anything without help). Good precautionary idea and well as a reaction to an infestation.
